Ski with the best. The West has its share of spectacular ski areas, and Red River Ski Area ranks right up there with the best of them for one dramatic reason. We offer slopes for all levels of skiers, making this a true family ski paradise. Another fact you'll want to consider: Lift capacity is an astounding 7,920 skiers per hour, so you don't have to stand around waiting.

Most of our ski runs deliver you right to the edge of town, so there's no long-distance driving (and parking) to contend with. (Fully 90% of the accommodations in town are within walking distance of the slopes and the others provide free trolley systems to get you where you want to be.) Additionally, we offer a nationally recognized ski school, with packages for everyone from beginner to expert. And yes, we also offer a great snowboard park.

There's more than one way to enjoy skiing. Of course, we are referring to cross-country. The Enchanted Forest Cross Country Ski Area atop 9,800-foot Bobcat Pass offers more than 30 kilometers of nicely groomed trails in a 1,400-acre park. Experience all kinds of terrain, not to mention all kinds of stirring mountain views, and probably even some wildlife. Spectacular! For information, call 575-754-2374. Open until March 26th, 2008.

Is this your year to take up snowmobiling? Technical advances have made snowmobiling a lot more reliable, quieter, smoother and easier than ever. Our Snowmobile tour operators will escort you on day trips over more than 50 miles of freshly groomed trails. There are also more ambitious escorted adventures available, even to the top of 11,249-foot Greenie Peak. Bring your own machine, or rent.

The family that skis together skis at Red River. There is a difference in ski resorts, and the difference at Red River is the distinctive emphasis on fun for everyone in the family. No member of your "home team" will feel left out on our slopes. Our 58 trails are equally divided for all skill levels: 30% expert, 38% intermediate and 32% beginner. Our nationally recognized ski school caters to all skill levels as well. And our new snowboard park keeps Gen X well challenged and entertained.

Here's another big plus. Most lodgings in Red River are within easy walking distance from the ski area, and two of our six chairlifts rise directly from downtown. This means you can park the car once you arrive and not move it again until you leave. Go anywhere in town on our free trolley. Spend your time on the slopes, not searching for another parking place.

We have the facilities to keep our resort skiable and fun all season. Fully 75% of the terrain is subject to snowmaking, so there isn't any downtime on our mountain. Our change in elevation is ideal, from 8,750 feet at the base to 10,350 at the summitñyou won't find better winter scenery anywhere else in the Southwest. The Red River Ski Area has been a popular regional winter sports destination since 1959, and it just keeps getting better and better.
